It was August 1st in 1895 when Ernst Sachs and Karl Fichtel established the “Schweinfurter Präzisions-Kugellagerwerke Fichtel & Sachs” and started the production of ball bearings and bicycle hubs. But it was as early as the 1920’s that the company broadened it activities into the new automotive industry and soon became a specialist in this field.
