The heart of construction
is the material available for use. Construction is made possible with the
availability of materials in abundance and in variety. Material and science and
technology is constantly making progress in the area of new material
discoveries and the synthesis of materials that will stand the test of times in
construction of buildings, roads, and bridges. The GTA is one place that has
witnessed firsthand growth in construction work due to the availability of
materials. Materials are constantly being produced to take care of different construction
needs. There are biomaterials, polymers, plastics, ceramics and even wooden
materials for different uses. One of the most used materials for solid work construction
is the Reinforced Concrete. Concrete is simply made to be stronger by the
addition of some materials to further increase its strength. One of such
material is steel and iron bars. When steel is added to concrete, a solid
composite is formed.
